Why are we changing the way you log into CU OnLine?

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) recently issued guidelines directing financial institutions to increase online authentication levels by the end of 2006. This has become necessary due to the increasing incidents of identity theft and electronic fraud. These new steps are called Software Token Authentication.

With Software Token Authentication, online account access is secure and hassle-free. It uses a software-based token (or a file that resides only on your PC) and private questions only you would know. Essentially, it uses something only the end user knows (User Name and PIN/Password), and something only the server knows (Security Key Image) to finalize a two-way handshake.

Login process change – Software Token Authentication will take the place of the normal ID and PIN entry screen.

The information in this online guide will walk you through the security enhancements to CU OnLine.
