To enhance security for CO-OP shared branch transactions, CO-OP is implementing a new ID validation process when an out-of-state ID is presented in conjunction with a shared branch transaction. You may be asked to validate your ID for these transactions.
This one-time verification helps protect you from fraud and should streamline your shared branch transaction process going forward. Shared branch network credit unions and locations will have a QR code you can scan to initiate the validation process in branch, or you can pre-verify your ID for CO-OP shared branch transactions by following the quick steps below.
- Visit verify.coop.org – Pro tip: Use your mobile device with a camera for a faster process!
- Type and select Communication FCU in the “Your Credit Union” box.
- Enter your CFCU member number and last 4 digits of your SSN or Tax ID.
- Upload/take a photo of your ID or Passport and take a selfie. On-screen prompts will guide you.
- Once verified, select the prompt to save your device.
- A One Time Passcode which is valid for 20 minutes, will be generated. Show this code to a teller when performing a transaction.
Once you are verified on your device, you will only need to scan the QR code in-branch or visit verify.coop.org to generate a new one-time-passcode for future transactions. Verify today and start a more secure, faster CO-OP Shared branch experience.
