Online Banking Basics

How do I enroll in Online Banking?

Enrolling in Online Banking is fast, easy, and secure. Visit the Online Banking Enrollment page, enter your Member ID (Member Number) and verify your personal information, then set up your username and password. It’s that simple!

What can I do through Online Banking?

With the CFCU Mobile Banking app, you can:

  • View your balance instantly without having to log in.
  • Access your account with Touch ID / Face ID on enabled devices.
  • Deposit checks for FREE with remote deposit using your phone or tablet.
  • View your transaction activity.
  • Easily transfer money between accounts.
  • Send and receive money from others with Popmoney™.

How is my information kept safe through Online Banking?

Communication Federal Credit Union uses 128-bit SSL encryption to protect your personal information, including User IDs, Passwords, and Account Information.

Does CFCU have a Mobile Banking app?

You bet we do! You can download the CFCU Mobile Banking app for Apple/iOS devices from the App Store and for Android devices from Google Play. Your login credentials will be the same as they are for Online Banking.

Linking Accounts, Making Transfers/Payments, and Sending Money

How can I link my external accounts with other financial institutions?

Enabling External Account Transfers

Once you are signed in to Online Banking, select Transfers from the top menu, then click External Account Transfer on the right side of the screen. You must accept the Terms & Conditions of the service and verify your email address before you can begin using External Account Transfers.

Adding a New External Account

Once you have accepted the terms of the External Account Transfer service and verified your email address, you will be able to add new external accounts. From the External Account Transfers page, click on Add a New Account, then select the account type, assign a nickname to the account, and enter your external account’s routing number and account number.

Verifying Your External Account

You will be asked to verify your external account instantly by logging in to your external bank account or verify your external bank account via two small bank deposits, which usually takes 2-3 business days.

Updating Your External Transfer Preferences

You can update your External Accounts and Verification Email by visiting Preferences within the External Account Transfers page.

How do I make a one-time payment or transfer?

For Transfers/Payments with Internal (CFCU) Accounts

From within Online Banking, click on Transfers. Select the accounts you wish to transfer from/to. Enter the amount of the transfer. Select the date of the transfer. Click Review to review the details and confirm the transfer.

For Transfers/Payments with External Accounts

From within Online Banking, click on Transfers, then External Account Transfer. Select the accounts you wish to transfer from/to, or add a new account if necessary.

Enter the amount of the transfer, select the date of the transfer, and set the frequency to one-time transfer. Click Review to review the details and schedule your transfer.

How do I schedule recurring/automatic payments or transfers?

For Transfers/Payments with Internal (CFCU) Accounts

From within Online Banking, click on Transfers. Select the accounts you wish to transfer from/to. Enter the amount of the transfer and click Make Recurring.

Select the frequency of the transfer and the date of the first transfer. Click Review to review the details and schedule the recurring transfer or payment.

For Transfers/Payments with External Accounts

From within Online Banking, click on Transfers, then External Account Transfer. Select the accounts you wish to transfer from/to, or add a new account if necessary.

Enter the amount of the transfer, select the date of the first transfer, and set the frequency to the desired interval. Click Review to review the details and schedule your transfer or payment.

How can I enroll in Online Bill Pay?

After signing in to Online Banking, click on Pay Bills in the top menu. You must accept the terms of the service to continue.

Once you have enrolled in Bill Pay, you can search for the company or person you want to pay by name or category. If you cannot find the person or company, you are able to add them.

Upon selecting the company you wish to pay, you will be prompted to enter your account number and other account details before making a payment.

If the company you selected can’t be paid electronically, the Bill Pay service will mail them a check.

How can I send money to friends and family?

Send Money through Online Banking with Popmoney

To send money to friends and family securely with Popmoney, visit Bill Pay (enroll using the steps above if you haven’t already) and click on “What else can I do?” in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Next, select the Popmoney tile and verify your email address and phone number to activate the service.

You will now be able to send money to friends and family using their email address and/or phone number.

Send Money via Apple Pay Cash, Cash App, PayPal, or Venmo

To send money using any of these services, open the Apple Pay Cash, Cash App, PayPal, or Venmo app and add your CFCU Debit Card as a payment method.

Staying Safe with Peer-to-Peer Payments

When using Popmoney or any other peer-to-peer payment platform, make sure you are sending money to someone you know personally and trust. Do not send money via peer-to-peer transfers to people you do not know, or to purchase items that you have not yet received.

Managing Your Finances Online

How can I view my statements electronically?

Log in to Online Banking and click on your account tile. Next, click the Online Statements link, which will ask you to open another window.

In the next window, you will be asked to enter your email address and mobile phone number, and accept the eStatement terms and conditions.

How can I sign up for free credit monitoring and view my credit score?

From the main Accounts page within Online Banking, scroll down to the My Credit Score section. Click on the tile to enroll in Credit Sense, a free credit report monitoring and credit score service available within Online Banking to CFCU members!

Are there any tools to manage my finances across multiple accounts and institutions?

Yes! You can enroll in Trends by clicking the link in the top menu within Online Banking.

With Trends, you can build a comprehensive view of all of your finances, including internal accounts and accounts you hold at other institutions.

Budget status and goal progress are automatically tracked against your targets. Charts, graphs and advanced search capabilities make transaction monitoring and analysis simple.

Account Login Help & Updating Your Contact Information

Where can I find my Member ID or Member Number?

Your Member ID can be found on your Membership Card and in your Welcome Letter. It also makes up a part of your account number – usually the portion of the account numbers before a -15X or -17X.

If you are unable to locate your member number, please call us at 405.879.5600 or visit your nearest CFCU branch so that we can assist you.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You can reset your password online. Simply visit the Reset Password link, enter your User ID, verify your identity, and set your new password.

I forgot my User ID and/or am locked out of my account. What should I do?

Please call us at 405.879.5600 or visit your nearest CFCU branch so that we can restore your access to Online Banking.

How can I manage my Identity Verification Phones?

You can view, add, and delete your Identity Verification Phones within Online Banking. Visit Settings > Security & Alerts > Identity Verification Phones to manage your phone numbers.

How can I update my address, email, or phone number?

You can update your contact information within Online Banking by going to Settings > Profile and selecting Address or Email and Phone Number. Enter your updated contact information and click Save to ensure that the changes are recorded.

How can I change my User ID or Password?

You can change your User ID and Password within Online Banking by going to Settings > Profile and selecting user ID or Password.
